  35. Well Jeffery, Kermit 95 won't be what I use. This is a one-time only
  36. effort for a hobby VMS system - once I have TCP/IP going I won't need
  37. Kermit and I'm sure not going to pay $64 for a one-shot deal. I'm not
  38. upset, I just am not going to spend that kind of money to transfer 4
  39. files.

  41. I recall when Kermit didn't try to be all of the stuff mentioned on
  42. the web page... just a simple way to get some minimal files from one
  43. system to another.

  45. My how times have changed. If I want a full-featured telnet client
  46. I'll opt for CRT/SecureCRT at http://www.vandyke.com instead.

  48. I will keep working on a Z-modem solution, or a UUENCODE/UUDECODE. I
  49. haven't found a 'hex creator' for the Win98 end or I'd try that and
  50. ship over the ASCII to be 'dehexed'.

  52. I will also quit trying to use C-Kermit on the VAX end and go back to
  53. VMS Kermit32 which had no trouble talking to MS-Kermit. Dumb old me
  54. thought "any kermit would talk to any other kermit" but I guess that
  55. is just an old fashioned notion.
